how you know you love your job… or something like that…
so i can honestly say that i love playing my violin… and that i’d love to have a carreer doing just my violin stuff.
but on the 4th of july this year, i was given a test. not with my violin, but with my pharmacy job. specifically my hospital pharmacy job. i was asked to come into the pharmacy at 4am to cover the overnight tech’s shift b/c she was sick. and i said i’d do it. hell, 13.5 hours of holiday pay… heck yea i’ll do it.
so i woke up at 3am and stayed at the hospital till about 5:30pm. and i have to say, i think i could have stayed longer if they had asked. i would have had to take a 15 minute power nap in teh break room, but i was really enjoying the work. and then it hit me… i really love working in the hospital. so i think i’ve found the niche that i fit into… finally. hehehe.
don’t get me wrong, i love my violin and i’m never going to stop playing, but it’s nice to know that i have something else to do when i’m not practicing or performing
so yea, this summer has been one huge long “what’s edmond doing? he’s working.” because not only have i been working 40+ hours at the hospital every week, i’ve also been working at target on my day’s off because they’re down a tech there too. i have not had a day off since the 8th of june… and my first day off will be this wednesday when i’m up in dallas at my best friend’s wedding. i’m the maid of honor… and no, i will not be wearing a dress. i will be in a very dignified tuxedo… now let’s just see if i can make it through the wedding toasts w/o making a complete idiot of myself… or putting in tooo many inside jokes that only jessica and me will understand. hehehe.
well, that’s about it for now… and yes, this is the same jessica as in the blog from months back… i really do need to add to that… oh well.
till next time,
have a great day!
